Roots XL Collection to Celebrate its 40th Anniversary

Roots, is launching the Roots XL Collection, a line of premium fleece sweats designed by the company’s award-winning athletics and special projects guru, Adrian Aitcheson.

Based on the company’s extensive archives and named “XL” to highlight the company’s 40th anniversary (“XL” means “40” in Roman numerals), the nine-piece premium mix-and-match collection is made with the most exceptional sweat fabric ever produced by Roots in its 40-year history — a 20 oz. heavyweight cotton-rayon blend based on their classic workout jersey.

Made in Canada, the special collection comes in a vintage grey mix as well as an all-over print inspired by a topographical map of Algonquin Park, and features minimal logo-ing and meticulous detailing such as flatlock stitching and nickel-plated brass talon zippers.

What a great idea! A very nice collection - can't wait to check them out. I bet they're super comfy. I really like the shade of grey, plus the topographical map of Algonquin Park print is pretty cool.

To celebrate this special collection, Roots will host a Toronto-only Pop-up store at 567 Queen Street West. It will provide customers with an opportunity to purchase the Roots XL collection before it officially hits select Roots stores across the country, and online at roots.com, starting March 3.

Pop-up store will be from Thursday, February 27 to Sunday, March 2. Hours: Thursday & Friday, 12-8pm. Saturday & Sunday, 11am-7pm.

Bar Isabel's owner and chef, Grant van Gameren,
for the XL collection campaign.

Stuff I Wore - #Outfie

Trying something new for this 'Stuff I Wore' posting. Since it's not always easy to have someone take pics for me, all these pics are taken by myself = 'outfie'!

For this particular outfit, I think 'outfie' actually works best because of the print/pattern. Taking outfie was quite fun, testing out different angles and trying to make the pic more interesting. Hope you'll enjoy them.

This outfit included top from Jack & Jones and pants from the Gap.

Love this pocket t from Jack & Jones, Originals! From far it looks like there are polka dots all over, however if you look closer, they're actually skulls - fun!!

These camo pants was from the latest Gap collection with GQ, which featured 4 best new menswear designers in America. You can read more about that from my past posting here. The pants is by Baldwin. I love the colours and the subtleness of the camo print. I also really like the pockets on the front of the pants.

Heys Latest - Goodbye Boring Luggages

I had no idea?!
Heys produced the Olympic Team luggage for Sochi 2014 - cool, eh?

I've always been a fan of Heys products especially their luggages. Check out my past postings here. If you're planning on any travelling or in the market for a new luggage, make sure to check out Heys!

Heys' luggages are always so interesting and cool looking - my kind of style. I like not only the design thinking behind the luggages, ie. Lightweight Pro and the Smart Luggage, but also love the design/creatives printed on them. Say goodbye to boring luggages, time to stand out from the the crowd and travel in style!

Check out some of my fav and latest luggages from Heys - they're just so fun! I might just have to pick one up, but so hard to decide. Also, don't you think it's kind of a shame to only use them only for travelling/vacations purposes? I think we should start a trend and use them (the carry-on size) more often like when going out to do your groceries or shopping at the malls - why not, right? : )

Below are a limited edition Series of luggage created by Canadian designer Karim Rashid - Organik Set. It's imprinted with his signature style of hypnotic colourful swirls. He referred as a "digipop" pattern, the graphic aims to embody his visualisation of the global information age through its sound-wave light aesthetic. They will be available exclusively at Sears in March 2014 or online through Heys.

Below are luggages created by Brazilian-born renowned digital artist/illustrator Fernando Volken Togni - World Map & The Cities. His intricate compositions and bold use of colour are influenced by the observation of details and daily life. Through vivid colours and sharp shapes, Fernando forms an eye catching organized chaos.

World Map Set - designed to showcase different parts of the world, and when
put side by side, the entire set form the full world map!

Cities Set - designed to celebrate 3 famous cities: New York, London and Paris.

More great looking luggages from Heys.

Calvin Klein Fragrance Press Breakfast

If you're following me on twitter, you'd know how much I like to enter giveaways/contest. By the way, FYI, I will be doing a giveaway myself here on the blog, so check back soon!

So glad that I entered this one - it was through Dave Lackie, editor of BEAUTY the guide. (Follow him, he does a lot of giveaways.) I was one of the lucky winners and the prize was to attend an exclusive press preview (for only beauty editors & journalists) of Calvin Klein's latest women's fragrance Endless Euphoria. It was held at The Gardiner Museum in Toronto last week. Not only did it included a seated breakfast, the creator/perfumer Bruno Jovanovic was there too!

A beautiful set up

To be honest, I wasn't too farmilliar with the perfume business. However after attending this great event and getting to sit in on an interview wtih Bruno Jovanovic, my view towards perfume changed - for the good. I now appreciate scent more and will look more into cologne and will probably wear them more often.

Being welcomed with smoothies!
Endless Euphoria beautifully displayed

Bruno being asked about Endless Euphoria

Bruno Jovanovic is a big deal in the fragrance world. He has created or collaborated on the following: CK IN2U Him for Calvin Klein, Island Hawaii for Michael Kors, IDOLE d'Armani for Giorgio Armani, Lady Million for Paco Rabanne, just to name a few. He also created Fierce for Abercombie and Fitch! I love that scent and had no idea that Bruno created it too! Fierce was actually my very first cologne purchase ever. And now, I got to meet the creator - how cool?! He was such a nice guy!

We were seated right across from the perfumer Bruno!

Sandy (other contest winner), Bruno & Me!
A little about Endless Euphoria. The fragrance is feminine, fruity and floral. It's refreshingly light and radiant. It opens with an intoxicating breeze of cherry blossoms, tipped with refreshing mandarin and bergamot. The heart blooms with beguiling floral notes of violet, pastel rose and syringa. At the base, bamboo, sandalwood, and bare musk exude a dream-like seduction. Sounds good, ladies? Go and give it a try - available now.

The 2 David's : )
I had an awesome time at the event. It was such a cool experience. Nice venue. Beautiful set up. Breakfast was yummy. All the guest/staff were great! Thank you again to Dave Lackie! Check out all my pics - just try not to drool over the food shots : )
