Earth Day - Tote Bag Giveaway!

Earth Day is tomorrow, April 22. I always try to do my best to help out the environment. One small way is to cut down on plastic bags and use re-useable tote bags.

I'm sure everyone have tons of them - but are any of them as fun, cool or cute as my creation? : )

FYI - These tote bags are my creation! They are part of my Hello! Stuff by David Chiu collection. There are 3 fun designs: Robots, Skulls and Penguins!

Joe Fresh and those 'Bom Bom' Commercials

I'm loving the latest Spring 2013 commercials from Joe Fresh. I love the simplicity and of course that catchy song. It just puts me in a fun mood and makes me want to move/dance : ) Also, loving all the bright colours!

Hickies - Elastic Lacing System

Have you heard about Hickies?

To be honest, I haven't either until they reached out to me. And I'm so glad they did since I love sneakers. After seeing my outfit postings, I guess they noticed the many sneakers I own. (FYI - If you're on instagram, follow @stardchiu and search #dchiuoutfit.)

Jeremy Scott Latest Collaborations

Check out the Spring/Summer 2013 Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott. The JS Pink Poodle and JS Camo Bear.

The popular JS Bear is going militant. The new version of the Bear design is in camouflage. Ever so stylish, it's outfitted with a snapback cap.

The other design is a Pink Poodle sporting sunglasses - cute, eh? Definitely a stand out/attention grabber for sure.

 

Both shoes along with the rest of the Spring/Summer Collection will be launching during the week of March 15th, 2013. What do you guys think?

If you're a fan of Jeremy Scott, you'll be familiar with his winged designs for Adidas Originals. Now he's taking his winged design and working with Smart cars.

The "smart forjeremy" car features a glossy white exterior, two seater white leather and chrome interior along with his signature wings that light up red and extend from the back of the car.
The design element makes Scott the first fashion designer to change the body of a car. The limited edition car will be available next year. So cool!! I want one! : )

You got the 'Gangnam Style'?

So, I heard this song on the radio a couple days ago - at first, I didn't even know that it wasn't fully an English song. And now, it's like the biggest thing! The song and it's dance moves!

It is definitely a catchy song! (LMFAO style-ish) It is by a South Korean rapper named PSY. The song came out back in July and became a smash hit on YouTube, racking up more than 110 million views. PSY recently signed a deal with Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber's manager.

He's so popular, he recently made an appearance on both the MTV Music Video Awards and the Ellen Degeneres show. On Ellen he even showed Britney Spears the popular dance moves. Check out the video below. "Dress classy and dance cheesy" lol

So, what does 'Gangnam Style' means? I did a little researching. It's a Korean language that refers to a luxurious lifestyle associated with the 'Gangnam district', a trendy area of Seoul. The song is about "the perfect girlfriend who knows when to be refined and when to get wild."

Great song, nice beats and cool moves! Giddy-up, you got the Gangnam style? : )

Summer 2012 - Good Times!

It's the end of August, the CNE is opened, and the days are getting shorter which are all signs that means Summer is unfortunately coming to an end. BOOO!

I can't complain, I loved this Summer - lot's of sun and HOT temperatures. I actually had lots of 'free' time this summer : ) Did lots and great times was spent with friends and family.

Looks like we're going to have some great Labour day weekend weather - last taste of summer. Go out and have a good time!!!

In memory of all the fun times I had this Summer here's a song to sums it all up, Carly Rae Jepsen & Owl City's "Good Time".  I love this song - always puts me in a happy mood when I hear it. Another very catchy one coming from Carly - enjoy!

Olympic Commercials

I am really enjoying the London Olympic games. Go Team Canada Go!!

Target store's campaign for The Avengers

Check out this very cool looking campaign from the retail chain Target, for the anticipation of Marvel's The Avengers. The film will open May 4th, 2012.

The campaign titled 'A Superhero in Every Aisle' features Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor and the logo all made from stuff you can find at Target. There are Dr.Pepper cans, pencils, toys, toaster among other things. What else do you see?

Little Girl sings Nicki's "Super Bass"

Not sure if you guys seen or heard about this - but I think it might be going viral very soon. I first saw it last week on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, which btw, the little girl will be on the show sometime this week.

I already liked Nicki Minaj's 'Super Bass' song, but after seeing it sung by this little one, I think I like it even more!

Her name is Sophia Grace,  who's 8 years old. Check it out - she's too cute!!

Dancing Models for Lavin

This is such an unusal sight - models dancing.... I saw this video on my friends Jackie's Blog (must check out)  and just thought that I must share it on my blog : )

The video is for Lavin's Fall/Winter 2011 Ad campaign. It's funny to watch since you normally see fashion models very serious. But here, you see them dancing/having a good time to the music of Pitbull's I know you want me. What a great and fresh idea to show off the new line of clothing - love it!

Deep Fried Cola & Donut Burger!!??

That's right, I was brave enough (and curious) to try them both.

Looking for everything deep-fried? The Canadian National Exhibition is the place to find them! Last year's craze was the Deep Fried Butter, but this year's is the Deep Fried Cola. Plus, also the Krispy Kreme Burger is getting a lot of attention.

I was very interested in the Deep Fried Cola ($6 for a cup) - thinking how do they fried coke?? Being curious, I must try it. I saw them making it. It's like, cola was mixed in with batter, and then dropped in oil. Here are some pics - yeah, it doesn't look that appealing. It didn't really taste like cola, and I found it had very little flavour. Will I try it again? No thanks!

I also tried the 1,500 calorie Donut Burger. That's right - it's like a cheeseburger with Krispy Kreme donuts for buns! ( $8 or $10 with egg and bacon) I actually really enjoyed it!! I liked the taste of the sweetness of the donuts mixed with the burger was surprisingly very yummy : ) I would definitely have it again. FYI - I didn't eat the whole thing, shared it and just had half of it = only 750 calorie. Here are some pics, enjoy!!

Happy Canada Day!

Just wanted to wish Canada a very Happy Birthday!!! Happy 144th to be exact.

Hope everyone will have a great and fun long weekend - go out and enjoy the great summer weather! I, myself will be going camping with the family.
