Diesel FW13 Campaign #DIESELREBOOT

The concept behind Diesel's advertising campaign for this fall is quite different from what they have done in the past

Nicola Formichetti, the new Artistic Director of Diesel are enlisting a new generation of brand ambassadors and fearless fashion leaders under the banner of #DIESELREBOOT.

Over the past few months, Diesel announced its presence on Tumblr gathering a community of fresh and brave creatives. This innovative approach of celebrating creativity is the inspiration of the campaign. People who represents Diesel's DNA primary particles: freedom, originality and above all, bravery were featured. Each person photographed was self-styled in Diesel denim and leather - customized by Nicola Formichetti.

Nicola Formichetti says that "the idea for this campaign was to merge the classic portrait photographic style featuring the new heros of today's generation: the digital influencers and creators. Visually, I wanted to highlight the individual beauty of our community. It was less about capturing fashion and more about getting an insight into these people's souls."(Photographers were Inez and Vinoodh)

Thoughts? I like! I think it's a pretty neat idea!

Preview Event - 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target

A LIVE look book.
Breakfast!

I attended the preview event for the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection the other day. It took place at the Corus Entertainment Inc. in Toronto.

I've be talking about this collection on my blog (past postings here), so needless to say, I was pretty excited to attend this event. It was a sneak peek of the collection. There were racks of both women's and men's apparel there for us to check out. A great display of the accessories. It was actually nice to get to hold, touch and feel the items. There were six models showing off different looks/outfits. The pieces will definitely ensure you to stay effortlessly stylish for whatever time! It's sophisticated looking yet functional. Plus the designer, Phillip Lim was there too!

My fav look!
Spotted designer, Phillip Lim! See him?

It's less than a month away! This limited collection will be available September 15th - exciting! Check out some of the pics I snapped and this very interesting behind the scenes ad campaign below.

Herschel Supply Co. Fall 2013 Cotton Canvas Collection

I usually take a bag or a backpack with me when ever I go out. A brand I am really admiring/looking at for the past few years is Vancouver based Herschel Supply Co. For Fall 2013, they bring us the Cotton Canvas collection. Their products are crafted with a fine regard for detail and built to stand the test of time. In the latest collection, there's the introduction of suede details and colour blocking.

Designed for those who appreciated the finer things (that's me), the twelve piece collection is constructed from high quality, enzyme washed heavyweight cotton canvas and finished with full grain leather details, suede trim, brass zippers and brass pin clips.

Check out the offering below. I really like the colour blocked style, and the colours; black, washed  navy, rust and army. They're available now in selected stores and on herschelsupply.com.

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Lookbook

Very excited about the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collaboration! The exclusive collection for women and men will be available in about a month, September 15th at most Target stores. This will be the very first collaboration available in Canada, since Target had just opened here earlier this year. I wonder, how crazy busy it will be? Will shoppers/fan be lining up early?

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target embodies Lim’s philosophy that clothing is meant to refine, not define. Rooted in a classic fall palette of neutral tones and prints, the collection features more than 100 items and ranges in price from $19.99 to $299.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $59.99 for accessories. Standout pieces include bags, dresses and a trench coat for women, and shoes and a leather moto jacket for men. Travel accessories, such as a duffle and multipurpose pouches for women and men, round out the collection.

Very happy to see that the collection is not only apparel but also includes a lot of accessories, including shoes, bags and travel accessories. Check out most of the (photos) look book below: most of the men, and some of my favourite look for the women.
