I'm so happy the weather is finally feeling like spring. No more heavy, thick coat - a light jacket or hoodie will do. Time to bring out those kicks/sneakers and wearing socks can now be optional : )
Check out my latest outfit taken on the very first spring-like weather weekend. Most of the items; hoodie, t-shirt, sunglasses and jeans are all from one of my fav retailer, H&M. Shoes are from Jack & Jones. Backpack from Herschel Supply. Watch from ODM.

Socks are the new tie! It's a great way to show off your personality and style. Bright colours, stripes, polka dots or fun prints and pattern - don't be afraid to give your feet some attention! No need to match your pants or shoes perfectly - just have some fun! So, cuff up those pants and cross your legs more often to show off your sock style.
Check out some of my latest sock styles posted on Instagram:

Below are images of the latest styles from McGregor Socks. I also included a statement from one of McGregor Sock designers about her inspiration for McGregor's spring/summer 2014 collection:
"For colour, the focus was on a spectrum of strong and saturated hues, bordering on fluorescent, and concentrated doses of intense tropical colours. Designs were inspired by large geo shapes and pattern (think oversized, open plaids), Mexican blankets (exuberant stripes that played with colour and proportion), waves of tonal shades and bright, bold colour-blocking."

It's always nice to walk into a retailer and see it all devoted to menswear. One of my fav is Jack & Jones. It is one of Europe's leading producers of menswear, where jeans are the backbone, however J&J is nowadays defined and represented by five unique brands: J&J Vintage Clothing, Premium by J&J, Originals by J&J, Core by J&J and J&J Tech.
I love the idea of having the five unique brands. An offer for a certain mood you might be in and definitely something for every occasion. The brands are designed by independent design teams, each one of them with their own ideas, concepts and designs. They all offer a full range of clothes, accessories and footwear.
Which J&J brands do you fit into most? I won't be able to pick as I'm a big fan and love them all! : ) Check out one of my recent 'Stuff I Wore' posting featuring an Originals by J&J! Find out below what the different J&J brands represents along with some of their offers for Spring/Summer 2014. I visited my local location a few weeks back and with permission, took some pics. I was like a little kid in a candy shop - enjoy!
J&J Vintage Clothing celebrates craftsmanship and take great pride in producing high quality products. By reviving authentic vintage items and reproduce washes, trims and fabrics with reference to specific periods in time, aim to capture the true soul of jeanswear.
Premium by Jack & Jones is a brand focusing on high quality, attention to detail and style before fashion. The brand has its roots in classic styles and the collections are built on iconic pieces. The styles are put into modern and seasonal contexts - e.g. dress shirt or blazers in new fabrics, new colours or with added details based on current trends.
Originals by Jack & Jones
Originals is inspired by the indie and urban pop culture scene. The style is vibrant and easy going and references are drawn from everything that influences the current trends.
Core By Jack & Jones
Core is utility streetwear with a strong graphical concept and an eye for innovative details. Each style is made of high quality fabrics with a crisp and clean finish where details have strong workwear references.
Jack & Jones Tech
Tech provides a range of highly functional garments and is dedicated to creating high quality products and providing supreme comfort for everyday life. It revolves around an active lifestyle where fashion, function and sports come together.

Looks like the weather in Toronto is finally getting warmer which means I can get out my Converse All Stars sneakers! I also hope to add a few pairs from the Spring/Summer collection. Check out the latest below - loving all those colours!!
The Spring/Summer 2014 collection features dynamic pops of colours and elevated silhouettes to provoke self-expression. Colourful prints, bold colour blocking patterns and lighthearted florals create functional yet stylish looks perfect for the season.
Chuck Taylor All Star Platform Plus - NEW style for the ladies this season!
Taking the iconic sneaker to new heights adding a feminine touch to a sporty silhouette. With over two inches of a concealed wedge, will give your feet a dramatic burst of bold of colour.
All Star Riff - NEW style for Summer 2014
It features a EVA sock liner and can be worn with or with our laces, making it the perfect beach shoe.
Chuck Taylor All Star '70 (CTAS)
The Chuck Taylor All Star '70 returns with the firs two prints ever released on a CTAS sneaker, the camouflage and the glow-in-the-dark zebra prints. The CTAS will also be available in size core colours and feature a reinforced double layered canvas upper and comfort sock liner.
If the All Star Collection is not your cup of tea, check out the Converse Jack Purcell Sneaker collection. They share a seasonless quality and clean design heritage. Inspired by different elements of summer accessories, such as cool tortoise shell sunglasses and elegant pocket squares. The collection is a new classic which seamlessly merges with the focused and cool personal style of discerning creative curators.
A little background info about John Edward "Jack" Purcell, which I recently learned. Being a long time badminton player myself, I had no idea that he was a Canadian world champion badminton player?! lol Oh well, you learn something new everyday, right?
Aside from being a badminton player, he pursed a career as a stockbroker, and also designed an athletic shoe that bears his name. He designed a canvas and rubber badminton sneaker to provide more protection and support on badminton courts. In the 1970s, Converse purchased the trademark rights to Jack Purcell sneakers. The shoe, which is similar in appearance to Converse's Chuck Taylor All-Stars, can be distinguished by the signature "smile" across the toe.

They are all now available in stores. Shoes are boring, wear sneakers!! : )
