Roots XL Collection to Celebrate its 40th Anniversary

Roots, is launching the Roots XL Collection, a line of premium fleece sweats designed by the company’s award-winning athletics and special projects guru, Adrian Aitcheson.

Based on the company’s extensive archives and named “XL” to highlight the company’s 40th anniversary (“XL” means “40” in Roman numerals), the nine-piece premium mix-and-match collection is made with the most exceptional sweat fabric ever produced by Roots in its 40-year history — a 20 oz. heavyweight cotton-rayon blend based on their classic workout jersey.

Made in Canada, the special collection comes in a vintage grey mix as well as an all-over print inspired by a topographical map of Algonquin Park, and features minimal logo-ing and meticulous detailing such as flatlock stitching and nickel-plated brass talon zippers.

What a great idea! A very nice collection - can't wait to check them out. I bet they're super comfy. I really like the shade of grey, plus the topographical map of Algonquin Park print is pretty cool.

To celebrate this special collection, Roots will host a Toronto-only Pop-up store at 567 Queen Street West. It will provide customers with an opportunity to purchase the Roots XL collection before it officially hits select Roots stores across the country, and online at roots.com, starting March 3.

Pop-up store will be from Thursday, February 27 to Sunday, March 2. Hours: Thursday & Friday, 12-8pm. Saturday & Sunday, 11am-7pm.

Bar Isabel's owner and chef, Grant van Gameren,
for the XL collection campaign.

H&M for Brick Lane Bikes: A Men's Cycling Collection

What an interesting collaboration - I like it! H&M has teamed up with East London fixed-gear cycling specialty shop Brink Lane Bikes to create a line of rider-friendly menswear inspired by the urban cycling scene.

Designed by H&M and tested by Brink Lane Bikes, this only means that this capsule collection is both very functional gear and stylish streetwear.

I'm only an occasional rider. I do like to take the bike out during the summer time and I 'm looking forward to sporting some of these cool, great looking items. To be honest I will probably wear them in my everyday outfits : )

Eventhough the collection may be designed with bike enthusiasts in mind, I think every guy can enjoy it. It comes in great colours, and I love all the details. The technical details become part of the look of each piece.

One of my favourite piece is the rider jacket. It's made from water repellent and breathable material, with ventilation holes under the sleeves and taped seams. It's cut longer at the back, with the back pocket and straps inside the jacket so it can be worn as a backpack. Nice!

Check out the Look Book video below and see the collection in action along with the technical details. Lastly, the collection is made entirely from more sustainable materials as part of H&M Conscious work. Look out for this special collection, hitting  around 180 stores from March 7th, 2013.

My Outfit Postings

If you're on my Facebook, following me on twitter or instagram, I'm sure you've noticed my instagram outfit postings. I was kinda inspired by other bloggers and postings I follow. I figured why not start showcasing my style/outfits.

I love fashion and shopping. And I think I have a pretty good sense of style - you guys can let me know : ) I enjoy putting outfits together and like experimenting/being adventurous with clothing. My style is pretty clean looking. I tried to look for pieces that have unique details. I do like trends but don't go overboard. I like fitted pieces and not afraid of wearing colours; yellow pants, pink tops - bring them on. Lastly the outfit has to be comfortable!

I love and collect lots - shoes/sneakers, watches, bags/backpacks, t-shirts, etc. I like to get items in a wide range of styles/colours - let just say I like to have a variety. Yes - I may have an issue, lol. Plus I really need a bigger closet! FYI, I also included where I got the pieces I'm wearing. You might notice, I am a big fan of H&M.

I would like to thank you my great big sister for taking most of my outfit pics. It's not easy - I'm pretty picky. Thank you for her patience and being a great photographer!

To check out my outfit postings, there's a couple options: follow me on twitter (on the left), follow me on instagram. If you're on instagram, you can also do a search #dchiuoutfits. I am also thinking of doing more detail posting of my outfits here, so stay tune.

I hope you guys enjoy my outfits/postings, I have fun posing/modeling in them. Hopefully it will give you guys ideas ie. what colours works together, how to mix patterns, how to wear certain pieces, etc. and inspire you to have fun and experiment with your outfits. Looking for a stylist? Let me know! : )
