Converse Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

Looks like the weather in Toronto is finally getting warmer which means I can get out my Converse All Stars sneakers! I also hope to add a few pairs from the Spring/Summer collection. Check out the latest below - loving all those colours!!

The Spring/Summer 2014 collection features dynamic pops of colours and elevated silhouettes to provoke self-expression. Colourful prints, bold colour blocking patterns and lighthearted florals create functional yet stylish looks perfect for the season.

All Star Collection:

Chuck Taylor All Star Platform Plus - NEW style for the ladies this season!
Taking the iconic sneaker to new heights adding a feminine touch to a sporty silhouette. With over two inches of a concealed wedge, will give your feet a dramatic burst of bold of colour.

All Star Riff - NEW style for Summer 2014
It features a EVA sock liner and can be worn with or with our laces, making it the perfect beach shoe.

Chuck Taylor All Star '70 (CTAS)
The Chuck Taylor All Star '70 returns with the firs two prints ever released on a CTAS sneaker, the camouflage and the glow-in-the-dark zebra prints. The CTAS will also be available in size core colours and feature a reinforced double layered canvas upper and comfort sock liner.

If the All Star Collection is not your cup of tea, check out the Converse Jack Purcell Sneaker collection. They share a seasonless quality and clean design heritage. Inspired by different elements of summer accessories, such as cool tortoise shell sunglasses and elegant pocket squares. The collection is a new classic which seamlessly merges with the focused and cool personal style of discerning creative curators.

A little background info about John Edward "Jack" Purcell, which I recently learned. Being a long time badminton player myself, I had no idea that he was a Canadian world champion badminton player?! lol Oh well, you learn something new everyday, right?

Aside from being a badminton player, he pursed a career as a stockbroker, and also designed an athletic shoe that bears his name. He designed a canvas and rubber badminton sneaker to provide more protection and support on badminton courts. In the 1970s, Converse purchased the trademark rights to Jack Purcell sneakers. The shoe, which is similar in appearance to Converse's Chuck Taylor All-Stars, can be distinguished by the signature "smile" across the toe.
