When I was invited to a media night event at their latest Scarborough location, how could I say no? I grew up in Scarborough, so it was so great to hear that one was finally opening in my neighbourhood!

The Captain's Boil is rapidly expanding across the country and their latest location is in Scarborough, 4505 Sheppard Ave. E to be exact! Click here, to see all of their locations.4505 Sheppard Ave E

For those who are not familiar with The Captain's Boil, it's a Cajun seafood boil restaurant chain. Putting a spin to the traditional Louisiana Creole-inspired crawfish boil recipe,it is a unique yet messy experience like no other. You can look forward to a steaming hot concoction of lobster, king crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels, corn and potatoes which is served in a bag. You can pick your level of spice and toss the seafood into their blend of secret, Asian-inspired sauces: Cajun Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Sauce or Captain's Boil (mix of all three). There are also fresh oysters, side dishes and lunch specials.

Toronto Light Festival

It's time to come out of the dark this winter and into the light! I love a great event especially a very cool one like this - The Toronto Light Festival at The Distillery District. This is the first year and you won't want to miss it.

Come and see the beautiful Distillery District transform into an open-air gallery, lighting up the winter night with installations from creative Canadian and International light artists. Welcome NEON to Queen St. West!

Attention shoppers - NEON Clothing recently opened it's very first store in Toronto! They are an established retailer in Quebec for over 30 years but now they are located in one of the hippest districts in the world - Toronto location at 501 Queen Street West.

I recently checked out the store and absolutely loved it. I heard of NEON before, so it was very nice to actually visit the store. First off, a great location! Secondly, NEON carries lots of great brands. Thirdly, a very cool environment to shop at!
