Roots Spring/Summer 2013

I attended Roots Spring/Summer 2013 collection preview last week held at the flagship store on Bloor st. It was a great evening, with drinks and some nibblies.

The preview included leathers, apparel and accessories. It was a lovely set up and lots of nice, colourful pieces to look forward to what will be coming to stores early next year.

There were so many great bright colours in leather goods, especially in the Tutti Frutti Collection.

Check out this great 2 in 1 handbag. You can unzip/detach the front pouch/handbag and use it on its own. You can also mix and match with other colour handbags. What a great idea!

I think my favourite pieces were the men's leather accessories and footwear. No surprise, I especially love the sneakers; great colour laces/soles. Love the high tops too! I want them all! 

LOVE these!

I don't own any Roots footwear. However, I think that may change come early next year. Looking forward to trying them out when they arrive in stores.

Jeremy Scott Latest Collaborations

Check out the Spring/Summer 2013 Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott. The JS Pink Poodle and JS Camo Bear.

The popular JS Bear is going militant. The new version of the Bear design is in camouflage. Ever so stylish, it's outfitted with a snapback cap.

The other design is a Pink Poodle sporting sunglasses - cute, eh? Definitely a stand out/attention grabber for sure.

 

Both shoes along with the rest of the Spring/Summer Collection will be launching during the week of March 15th, 2013. What do you guys think?

If you're a fan of Jeremy Scott, you'll be familiar with his winged designs for Adidas Originals. Now he's taking his winged design and working with Smart cars.

The "smart forjeremy" car features a glossy white exterior, two seater white leather and chrome interior along with his signature wings that light up red and extend from the back of the car.
The design element makes Scott the first fashion designer to change the body of a car. The limited edition car will be available next year. So cool!! I want one! : )

New 'Man of Steel' Trailer

I am very looking forward to seeing "Man of Steel". Check out the posters above, the most recent one on the left. To be honest, I am not too crazy about it. I prefer the 'look' of the one on the right.

I can not wait for June 14, 2013!

H&M Men's Spring 2013

I like the green suit and the yellow/black sole on the shoe,
very nice!

When I saw what H&M have in-store for Spring 2013 - I really hope we can skip winter and bring on spring. I am very looking forward to the collection and can't wait to get many of the pieces.

The suit continues to be the main item. There's also graphic prints on suit jackets, pants, shirts and t-shirts. The baseball and biker jacket is back. Lots of accessories include printed scarves, espadrilles, ethnic-inspired shoes, sneakers and baseball caps.

Show your True Colours and Stop Bullying

I am sure you're aware that bullying has become a very big issue, especially now with cyber bullying.

It is very sad to see that people are taking their own lives due to being bullied. An interesting fact - Think of seven people you know, and at least one of them had been bullied, or is a bully.

We should all work together, take a stand and make a difference. One way to do so is through the Kids Help Phone. Maison Martin Margiela for H&M count down

Only a few more days till the launch of the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Collection - who's excited!! Available Thursday November 15 @8am.

The more I read more about Maison Martin Margiela, the more of a fan I am becoming.

A little background info: MMM is a french fashion house which as always followed its own path, often outside the conventional fashion framework.
They constantly questioning the norms of fashion and presenting its pieces through the technique of deconstruction and transformation, their collections reinvent volumes, modify shapes, change the original use and movement of garments and derail classic notions of fashion.

The collection for H&M consists of apparel and accessories for both men and women. A very neat thing - each piece is specifically labeled with a unique tag indicating the season from which its originated, spanning 23 years since the Maison's funding. (noted in their logo above)
