Converse Reintroduces The Fastbreak

I've always wanted to become a basketball player and these Converse might be able to help me, lol.

Back in 1983, the Fastbreak was designed for basketball players to jump high and fly and considered to be performance innovation! Converse has brought back the Fastbreak with a few new style takes making it the perfect street style sneaker for summer!

The Fastbreak was designed to be lightweight and breathable featuring a foam-backed nylon and leather upper to shed unnecessary weight.

In the NEW Fastbreak - it is a leather take on the classic style that still retains the classic paneling and iconic look. The new style doesn't sacrifice comfort either, a shock absorbent sole with flexibility and a pivot point make it ideal for everyday wear. From a legendary court legacy to a street-level lifestyle, that authenticity is retained in a leather reinterpretation of a shoe that helped make history.

This Fastbreak collection is now available in Casino Red, Candy Grape and Green. You can pick up a pair in select Footlocker stores and Converse.ca for an SRP of $110 CAN.

I love them - classic yet modern style! These Converse Fastbreak will definitely be in my sneakers summer rotations!

Converse Chuck II - Knit Collection

Converse continues to expand its very popular Chuck Taylor All Star II with the Knit collection. Perfect for the spring and summer season, it features ultra-thin and tightly interwoven knit material. They're available in both low Ox and high-top styles and comes in eye-catching colours inspired by the kaleidoscopic light shows at music festivals.

You can expect all the Chuck II features: A Nike Lunarlon sockliner, a nonslip padded tongue and an ultra-soft micro-suede lining for the extra comfort, monochrome matte eyelets and a fully embroidered All Star ankle patch.

The new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Knit collection colourways includes Volt Green, Black, Yellow, Roadtrip Blue, Red, White and Spray Paint Blue. They are available now in selected stores. For more info, click here.

Converse - The Chuck Taylor All Star II

For the first time in almost a 100 years, Converse introduces the 'Chuck II', a sleeker, more comfy version of its iconic Chuck Taylor All Stars sneakers.

Don't worry, Chuck II has retained the classic look of the Chuck Taylor. Here are some of the features:

• A Nike "Lunarlon" sockliner for superior full foot cushioning and arch support. It's a lightweight and bouncy foam support found in running and basketball shoes. Note: Converse, which was bought over by Nike in 2003 after it went bankrupt - this is where the Nike connection comes in, if you're wondering...

• There's a padded non-slip tongue, which provides 360-degree comfort around the ankle.

• A perforated micro suede liner for breathability during extended periods of wear.
• A durable premium canvas build complemented with a fully embroidered All Star patch.

The Chuck II comes in four colours - Black, Salsa Red, Sodalite Blue and White. It will be available on 28 July 2015. As for cost, it will be US$15 more than the originals, costing US$75 for the high-top, and US$70 for its low-top version.

Converse "Made by You" Campaign

This Spring, Converse launched "Made by you" - a landmark brand campaign celebrating fans of the brand who have been expressing themselves and their creativity in Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers for nearly 100 years. For this campaign, Converse searched the globe to collect beloved and distinctly personal Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers, each of which tells a story of transformation from blank canvas to self-portrait of their owner.

"Made by you" is a global celebration highlighting Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, the only sneaker defined by those who wear them. Converse has curated a collection of Chuck Taylor All Star portraits, showcasing endless diversity and self-expression of individuals past and present who choose to wear Chuck Taylor All Star - from musicians to artists, skaters to fashionistas, the known to the unknown. Their portraits offer a contemporary lens into the distinctly unique worlds they inhabit.

Portraits collected from the likes of international icons like Patti Smith, Andy Warhol, Futura, Sayo Yoshida and Glenn O'Brien were featured alongside portraits from everyday Chuck Taylor All Star wearers.

I absolutely love this campaign - such a fun & cool idea! A true celebration of creative individuals, their stories and their sneakers. I should definitely create my own "Made by you" portrait/poster, but which pair of chuck should I use? Stay tuned..... : )

Converse Celebrates the Creative Spirit of Andy Warhol - Spring 2015

What a great idea - I am loving Converse Spring 2015 All Star collection! I've always been a fan of Andy Warhol and now in Converse latest collection, it will feature iconic Warhol imagery! 

Converse recently announced the global debut of the Spring 2015 Converse All Star Andy Warhol Collection in partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation. Marrying Warhol's distinct vision with the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, the partnership between two pop culture icons celebrates creative self-expression and pays homage to the visionary artist.

Hailed as the preeminent artist of the 20th century, Warhol was an iconic visionary whose legacy continues to inspire rebels and artists everywhere. He creatively merged American pop culture icons, film, music, screen printing and performance, opening the door for millions of artists and performers. 

In Andy Warhol Collection, Converse All Star took one of Warhol's most iconic and recognizable prints, the Campbell's Soup can -  reinterprets and repurposes this screen print. On the high top sneaker, a singular soup can print is utilized in bold primary colours, while the low top stacks the Campbell's Soup cans on top of one another to create a layered pattern that adds depth and dimension, a common technique used by Warhol.

Some other designs featured includes the Campbell's Soup can in classic colours to monochromatic motorcycle prints and newspaper prints inspired from Warhol's ads and illustrations series.

The Spring 2015 Converse Chuck Taylor Andy Warhol collection will be available for purchase starting February 7 at specialty retailers. In Toronto area, they're available at Get Outside, Gravity Pope, Groovy, Little Burgundy, Zelen Shoes, Baggins, and Galaxie Bleu.

I also love that they're casual yet stylish at the same time - goes well with any outfits!
