Chef's Plate - Meal Delivery Service

No time to groceries shop or to cook? Then you must check out Chef's Plate! Chef's Plate's mission is to put fun back into the kitchen. They're a meal delivery service based in downtown Toronto (but now deliver across Ontario) that delivers pre-portioned ingredients and recipe cards for nutritious and affordable meals. They eliminate all the hassle and send you flavour packed meal kit designed by their Executive Chef that include as mentioned all the pre-portioned fresh ingredients to make a gourmet meal in 30 minutes or less!

How it works:
1. Discover recipes you'll love: 6 new recipes each week.

2. Select your plan: Choose from their 3 weekly plans and you'll receive a box of fresh, seasonal and pre-portioned ingredients with detailed recipes cards.

3. Chef's plate deliver all the ingredients: Deliveries occur every Monday. Meals are sent in a refrigerated box so your food stays fresh.

4. You cook a great meal! Use the detailed recipes cards and step-by-step instructions and you'll become a zero to kitchen hero!

Pricing:
They have the option of 2 Person Plan or a 4 Person plan, $10.95 per plate, very affordable! Definitely much cheaper and healthier than most take out.

I recently got a chance to try it out. FYI - I hardly ever cook so if I could do it - you would have nothing to worry about. The process was quite simple and actually pretty fun. It was very rewarding to see this beautiful plate of food at the end. My family was impressed. Plus, it was delicious! Everybody (stomach) was happy! Check out my beautiful finish product pic below!

You guys should definitely give Chef's Plate's a try! And just for my readers, use this special link when ordering - you will receive 2 FREE plates (or 1 meal kit) on your first order!!

Special delivery from Chef's Plate! Don't worry if you're not home to pick up your box. Your ingredients will stay fresh in your refrigerated box for up to 12 hours after the expected delivery time!

Fresh ingredients with ice packs.

My meal of choice that week: Marjoram Marinated Chicken with spinach linguine and a rapini lemon cream sauce. There's the recipe card along with all the ingredients which were nicely packaged and labelled - even the one garlic! ; )

EDO Restaurant - Far Beyond Sushi

I was invited to attend an exclusive tasting media event at EDO restaurant last week. The dinner of contemporary Japanese cuisine was held at its Spadina location in Toronto.

It was a wonderful evening filled with drinks & delicious food. The CEO and founder Barry Chaim was present along with chef Ryo Ozawa. I loved that they both had so much passion for what they do, which was shown throughout the evening. From all the great stories Barry shared and the attention to detail in the food/ingredients/presentation as chef Ryo was presenting each dish as it came out from the kitchen - they truly LOVE Japanese cuisine. Not only did I leave with a stomach that was happily satisfy but I also learned a lot about Japanese culture and cuisine!

It was such a neat experience - tasting authentic Japanese dishes. For example, to accompany the sashimi and sushi dish, EDO had real wasabi, not the powdered kind, along with white ginger, not the pink ones. And overall, simply serving fresh fish and ingredients.

We were served over 10 dishes that evening. I loved all of them, but some of my stand out were: Kyu-Maki, Miso Eggplant, Lobster Roll, Tiger Tuna and Kobe Beef, which was cooked right in front of us! Check out all the pics from the event I took.

I'd definitely recommend EDO Restaurant to all the foodies out there or for those who's a fan of Japanese food. For more info or to make a reservation, go check out their website here.

EDO is pleased to extend my readers a special offer! From January 22-31, 2015*, EDO will provide a complimentary appetizer (with the order of any two dishes per person) at any of the four EDO locations providing you use the hashtag #EDOapponme. To receive the appetizer, you'll just have to show their server that you've posted the hashtag live.
*Promotion is not valid at the EDO on Eglinton location on Jan. 30 and 31.

Also, for those who loves Winterlicious - EDO on Eglinton is participating! Check out their menu here.

My Beretta Kitchen Catered Birthday Dinner!

It's my birthday! With my adorable nephew - we match! : )

I wanted to share with you a very special birthday celebration I had! I entered this contest organized by Beretta Farms. We were asked to snap a selfie with one of their products at the local grocery store where Beretta products are sold. I submitted my pic. Then we had to encourage our followers, friends and family to like it. The entry with the most likes WINS a Beretta catered dinner for 10! And guess who won? ME! : ) Thanks to all who helped out, liked my pic and made this happened!

The winning selfie!
